Blood Recipient and Royalton Town Clerk to Host Community Blood Drive

The Royalton community is teaming up with Unyts to ensure that blood products are available for patients in need this summer. The demand for blood tends to outpace supply during the summer season, but Western New Yorkers have an opportunity to change that trend at an upcoming Unyts blood drive.

On Monday, August 6th the blood drive will run from 12:00-6:00pm at Royalton Town Hall.  All presenting donors will receive a free t-shirt.

Royalton Town Clerk Marie Little has been especially supportive of this blood drive as she has a very personal connection to blood donation. In 2010 she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia - AML.  As a part of her treatment she required a significant amount of blood and platelet transfusions, and these helped make it possible for her to live.

“Blood donation is CRITICAL for many patients’ survival. I know this firsthand because without the generosity of my family, friends, and many caring individuals, I would not be alive today” said Clerk Little. “I would like to thank everyone who has donated in the past and urge others to consider donating blood at our Unyts Blood Drive on August 6th!  You never know whose life you may help to save.”

To schedule an appointment to donate blood, please contact Unyts at 716-512-7940, or you can sign up online at and click on Donate Blood. Walk-ins always welcome!
