Blood Drive for Autumn Kozma

6 year old Autumn Kozma was born with hypo plastic left heart syndrome. Her rare and serious condition has kept her fighting for her life since birth. Unfortunately, Autumn is in need of a heart transplant.

Autumn Kozma and Girl Scout Troop 30339

Autum’s friends at the Girl Scouts Troop 30339 hosted a blood drive on Saturday April 14th in Cheektowaga.

It was a great turnout for the drive with over 60 units collected! The community really came out to help support Autumn Kozma and her family by buying baked goods.  A Chinese auction also helped to raise money for Autumn’s rising medical costs.   The girl scouts all earned their bronze community service badges, and were very excited about being on the news!

We would like to thank our friend Heather Ly at WGRZ (channel 2) for coming out and doing a live report from the event. It really helped spread the word Saturday morning. Thank you to everyone who attended the event and donated service from their heart. Your continued support is greatly appreciated to help us on our mission to sustain the need for blood and organ donor awareness here in WNY!

Check out our news coverage of the blood drive!
