Thank You Bills Fans!

Thursday, June 6th, 2013

Unyts teamed up with the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, June 4th, for the 1st annual Buffalo Bills & Unyts Blood Drive. The turnout was record breaking! 283 blood donors came out to Ralph Wilson Stadium to give blood. All donors were given a tour of the stadium and many were able to get signed autographs from some of the players who stopped by the drive throughout the day. It was a great day and we look forward to holding the next Buffalo Bills Blood Drive in November-stay tuned!

One Buffalo Jill’s Cheerleader is Ready to Save Lives!

Monday, June 3rd, 2013

My name is Myesha. I am one of the Buffalo Jill’s Cheerleaders! This week I am donating my blood at the Buffalo Bills Blood Drive with Unyts. I have been a donor ever since high school. The first time I tried donating blood I was turned down because I was semi-iron deficient. But that didn’t stop me. Since then I have been taking iron supplements and have been donating blood whenever I can. In addition I am studying to be a nurse therefore I know just how important donating blood can be. With only 1 pint of blood, it can save up to three lives. Just knowing how many people out there who need blood on a daily basis is astounding and if more and more people are willing to donate we can save thousands, maybe more. The reason I donate is to make a difference and help change someone’s life.

Unyts collects blood and it stays local, so all the blood helps someone right here in WNY! Fortunately I will be able to change someone’s life this Tuesday at the Bills Drive and I hope to see you all there!

The 2012-2013 Donate Life Club end of the year celebration at Coca-Cola Field was a huge success!

During the game, Niagara Falls High School Donate Life Club Advisor Barb Rodgers, threw out first pitch. Our second pitch was thrown out by Alden Middle School Student, Lucas Jurek.

East Aurora Remembers…

Thursday, May 9th, 2013

The girls lacrosse team at East Aurora High School had senior game night on May 8th. Each year they celebrate the life of Mike Schafer, who was an organ donor and also started the Booster Club at East Aurora High School.

The team wears green jerseys to celebrate Mike and to raise awareness about the importance of donation.

Thanks for spreading the word about donation!

Recycle Fest!

Wednesday, May 1st, 2013

Unyts was a sponsor for the 1st annual Recycle Fest in conjunction with Global Youth Service Day.

We were only expecting about 50 kids to help canvass the Kensington and Eggert neighborhood. We had over 60 kids show up in the neighborhood to hear the benefits of recycling and about what to recycle. In addition, they invited the neighbors to attend RecycleFest, which was held at the Community Charter School. There were games, food, composting and many prizes.

Unyts donated 12 bison’s hats, 15 Anderson’s milkshake gift certificates, a signed Sabres jersey.

A big thank you goes out everyone who helped make the 1st annual Recycle Fest a success!

April 27th at Delaware Park

April is Donate Life Month.

We invited our donor families to help us plant in our memorial garden to honor their loved ones, who were organ, eye or tissue donors.

Several donor families came out to plant shrubs in the Donate Life Garden in Delaware Park in Buffalo. The sun was shining on us, as we enjoyed the weather, planting and company.

Thanks to everyone who came out to help us celebrate life!

Thank You WNY!
